Special Issue on Robotics in Medicine

Robotics researches and developments with specific medical implications have been growing rapidly in recent years. The objective of this Special Issue is to disseminate latest research results and development activities which are eventually aimed to benefit patients and medical doctors. The submitted manuscripts are expected to report original results and developments focusing on surgical robots, robotic catheters, simulation for training and/or planning surgeries or interventions, and hospital automation. Topics include, but not limited to, the following areas.

- Robotic systems to be used in surgery or intervention
- Novel catheters which exploit robotics technology
- Medical simulation employing robot technology, e.g., haptics, augmented reality, virtual reality
- Equipment and robots to automate handling of patients, drugs, test samples, instruments
