Call for Papers for Special Issue: Artificial Intelligence for Intelligent Control of Autonomous Systems

With many technologies booming in today’s century, we are witnessing tremendous growth in autonomous systems reducing repetitive and vague tasks of humans which are predictable. Artificial intelligence is the core of intelligent control systems. In automation, we can predict patterns and run tasks making intuitive and informed business decisions for autonomous industries. The sparse data that is handled today requires real-time analysis, which is provided through intelligent systems of AI, which collects and predicts data from real-life scenarios making a significant impact on the simulated environment. Machine reinforcement learning is incorporated into autonomous systems through various signals extracted from low-fidelity simulators, which help these systems take corrective actions during uncertain breakdowns. Intelligent controlled autonomous systems are developing in multiple business verticals, including manufacturing, energy, supply chain, and more. The intelligent control of autonomous systems like product innovation, development, production process, machine automation, and optimization of products and services are some of the growing fields today to reduce workloads and time constraints.

Autonomous systems are being leveraged with AI solutions to advance the understanding capability of machine learning algorithms in predicting the performance indicators to enhance and facilitate business operations. With AI-powered algorithms, adaptive self-optimization is made easier with technologies for industrial operations that eventually upgrade intelligent control systems with machine adaptation towards real-time changing criteria. This improved the employee functionality in a transformative environment to work effectively with autonomous and intelligent systems. Along with these challenges, AI becomes unscalable while training autonomous systems with expertise and algorithms. Hence we will need more research in deep learning algorithms to infuse them into discrete autonomous systems bringing intelligence to a scalable level advancing the learning simulation of the systems. PID controls and open-loop controls are optimized with AI intelligence through automation systems, making operations more effortless than before. Predictive control of AI in the autonomous system will revolutionize operations in the upcoming future without any doubt. Multiple issues of this area still need in-depth research for human-centred AI, Ethical concerns, lack of learning capability, cyber security issues, and complexity of designing algorithms to learn real-time scenarios. To govern and excel in this automation process, AI-based autonomous controllers are still being researched by various data science and intellectual faculties. This special issue covers the importance, need, implications, recent research, and advancements in the field of AI empowering intelligent control of autonomous systems in various sectors. We invite scholars from various sectors to present innovative and conceptual ideas in enhancing the current AI control systems.
