This paper provides an efficient approach to the analysis of switched descriptor systems. Firstly, we focus on the problem of characterizing the consistency of such systems. Based on the different equivalent forms of systems, we introduce the associated projectors to guarantee the consistency of the solutions. Moreover, we investigate the stability of switched descriptor systems and provide some conditions which are based on a checkable approach via linear matrix inequality. Finally, we make a detailed comparison between different stability conditions via an illustrative example.
